Some FAQ for newbies and some tips for experienced players, too
Q: I have no map. What to do?A: Do NOT panic! It's NOT a bug. This because ArmA2 (BIS) thinks map=weapon. You died and lost all your weapons (including weapon=map). You can restart your arma2 and rejoin or buy a new map at the Equipment Shop (ES) (located near the bank, where civs buy NVG.) It's a good idea to learn your way to the Equipment Shop by sight alone, because it becomes really hard to find it once you have lost your map! When you are getting ready to logoff for the night, a good idea is to put your map (compass, radio, clock) into Private Storage. That way, once you have lost your map, all you need to do is go to Private Storage and pick up an old one. And more than likely, finding your way to storage is going to be easy as after a few days of play it is hard to forget where it is located! And if you are really stuck, why not ask a player nicely to come help you! Although it is hard to tell them where to come save you if you don't know where you are located! Be aware of your surroundings and stick to the roads and you should be fine as you explore the map for the first time.
Q: My car is NOT saved? Bug? Why? How to store weapons/vehicles/items?A: Not a bug! Probably you have been playing GTA III/IV to much. You do NOT need to search for a garage. You need to store items/weapons/vehicles/money in PS (Private Storage) before you disconnect/leave. Money can be put into the bank or in PS. Factories and resources inside factories are stored. All other items "outside" PS are lost once u DC (DisConnect).

And that wasn't a good idea to bet every last bit of money you had on one big haul like that! Like in Real Life, if you take all your money out of the bank, the bank will not replace the money if you lose it somehow. The safest place for money is your Private Storage. No one can rob it while it is in there. However, you will not be making any bank interest on that money. But it is best to have money in both places just in case you do something stupid and need some get back on your feet money. And never carry all your money on yourself! And if you are carrying a large chunk of money, put it in the trunk of your vehicle. That way, if you get disconnected randomly somehow, your vehicle along with the money you had in your trunk will still be there.
Q: Can I get my money back??!!
I was kicked by abusing SO (Server Operator) // killed // jailed by abusing cop // killed by annoying/crazy civ ... I lost money, car/weapons ...
Server crashed, lost connection. Stats were reset (or messed up) and I got Bazilions of money/levels.A1: No!!! You will NEVER, under no circumstances get ANYTHING back, sorry!A2. You are playing that game for free (maybe you payed to BIS, but not to us).
A3. We very much want you to enjoy game, but things happen ...
A4. And its real (maybe not RP, but real). In real life you can be raped, abused, killed (as innocent by abusing cop, crazy civilian) ..., too. So what's the problem? In real life you take care while driving//crossing streets. If shooting somewhere you (hopefully) run away, not inside/near shooting area ... If you are rich, you pay bodyguards. You cooperate with cops, not shoot them. You never insult cops (if they are close
) ... So do the same ingame ==> or face consequences.
A5. Its very hard to prove or to find out. And its sooo boring. And we got no money for it. So, if you lost your money/items/vehicles ... and its our fault. We are just very very sorry.
A6. And do NOT forget ... on stolen version (CL:R) you always lost all your money/items/vehicles after you quit! Always. In CL:U you lose them occasionally and not all of them!
Q: Bank Robbing & Drug Dealer is bugged! I went to buy drugs but he will not sell to me or he is out of stock!A: The drug dealer will slowly restock his supply of drugs over the day, and it is possible for a player to buy out his entire stock and it might be some time before he has more supply. However, he will NOT sell any drugs if the cop to civilian ratio has not been met. The current ratio is 2 civilians to 1 cop is enough for the dealer to sell you drugs. The same rules apply to the bank. If this ratio has not been met, there will be no way to rob the bank. The bank also sells Insurance that you can buy to protect against the loss you would have if someone robbed the bank.
Just few tips:
Its always good idea to have NVG (Night Vision Googles) and bins (Binoculars) on you. Buy them at the Equipment Shop.
Its always good idea to have spare map and 2 or 3 repair kits and refuel can in vehicle_trunk.
Its always good idea to have bank insurance on you. I have at least 5 of them. But not sooner than 100K in bank (useless and expensive).
Its always good idea to have fish (or any food you can buy in McChernarus) in the inventory. YOU CAN STARVE TO DEATH. YOU NEED TO EAT!!

You can use animations, e.g. to hands up if cops stop you.Did you know that:You can Inventory/KeyChain_click++scroll_to_player_in_scroll_down_list/USE and you can:
* duplicate keys (so you are still the Owner, but other can un+lock vehicle {but he can NOT put into PS})
* give keys (so former owner has no key and new owner becomes an owner)
* after you gave keys, NEW_owner can copy keys to FORMER_owner (and former owner can now un+lock vehicle, but he is still no owner)
