jail time by criminal log
« on: May 26, 2009, 02:33:17 am »
hi i have an better idea for jail thing.
i don't trusts cops they randomly jailing people even they not telling why they jailed.
so here is suggestion:
  • give a jailtime variable to each player.
  • increase it when he does something criminal, (like when he kills a cop add 5 to that variable) and count down while they stay in jail.
  • variable should be saved to character and if he disconnects and reconnects he can contiunue his jail time from which point he has left.
  • so there will be no 30 min wait for 5 min jail + disconnect.
  • so server restart will not reset jailed people.
  • if he exceeds some points like 50, auto jail him instead waiting cops.
  • when a cop catch someone and wish to jail him, cop can't give how much time to jail rather than it gona be decided by calculation.
  • if he has 0 jail mins, he will not go to jail, which prevents noobs jailing randomly and makes everyone get even jail time.
  • prevents 25 min jail for just 1 kill.
  • started as terorist can be given a 10 min jail time + wanted status. so anyone that terroist can be jailed when got by cops.
  • if they wait for 4 mins out of jail (like escaping) they will lose 1 min of jail time. so no one can be punished for a killing that occured 1 hours ago.
  • killed players may ask for a bail to killer, so if killer pay the losses of dead player and if dead one forgives him ( case of accident ) he will not get jail time. but lose money.
  • when somone gets jailed while they was in storage, apply the jail when they left the storage. so no one will lose items.
  • make a self criminal log, so we can see what was we done for get jailed.
  • put jail time variable in inventory menu so people can see how much crime they do.
  • if someone start game with jail time > 0 , they start at jail.
if you dont like this idea found better system for prevent noob cops randomly jailing, prevent 1 min meaningless jails, prevent 25 min jail for 1 kill.

ask any question if you have...

Good System, nice ideas, but it will be not in SL anymore, maybe in CL.

yeah very good suggestions! #

but one thing.

if someone start game with jail time > 0 , they start at jail.

i dont think they should start in jail cause they should have a chance to escape of the cops. they should start with a wanted status. so they always have to escape of the cops. i think thats hard enough.

lol if you escape all the time then someday you will have a jail time like an hour or more :D

That would be nice, also there wouldnt be cops just staring at the suspect and no more unfair jail times
